  Exercising Your Freedom to Vote

If you are thinking about sitting out this year's election, please don't. Every vote is important and there are many stories about small pluralities, even a single vote, turning an election (and that's not counting the ones that are "stolen"). Around the world Americans are (and for generations have been) fighting and (sometimes) giving their lives to preserve our freedoms, including the right to vote. Look around, when totalitarian regimes rise up, the vote is among the first freedoms to be suppressed. Exercising your vote is one way of sharing in our democracy and in the struggle of Americans across the globe, to protect and preserve our way of life.

Block out some time on your calendar on November 7th. Visit your local polling place and cast your vote. Even if you are angry with the process, vote for the "least objectionable" candidates and issues. Your vote carries a message and it will be heard.
